Early Implementation

The climate action plan is already becoming real work on the ground — micro-grants for climate resilience and community tree plantings at child care centers.

A plan only matters if it becomes real. Early implementation of the climate action plan is already underway, including:

  • Build Up Green Spaces (BUGS) — a micro-grant program helping child care providers make climate-resilience improvements
  • Community tree planting — a Community Tree Planting Day in May 2025, in partnership with Canopy, brought shade trees to three East Palo Alto child care centers, funded by Measure K
